Leukocytosis
Saturday, June 19, 2004

Finally, i had a day just for myself.. how did i spend it? in my bed. i'm quite surprised with my ability to sleep throughout the day. the whole week has taken its toll on me. my insensible lack of sleep has finally shown its effect on my fragile immune system. If i went to a GP today, my FBE will look like this

FBE

Haemoglobin 110

MCV 70

WCC 15.0

Neutrophils 9.0

Lymphocytes 5.8

Monocytes 0.1

Platelets 168

it's unethical for doctor to make own diagnosis. but, i'm not a doc yet, but trying to be one. Iron deficiency? Leukemia? or just a flu? maybe, just a flu then. "find the dog first, before you catch a Zebra".

the weather certainly the aggaravting factor. cold, wet and icy wind with a bit of sunshine. that's melbourne. and it doesnt help if i was roaming along Chapel st twice in a space of 3 days with Southland in between. i totally screw up my stomach. no breakfast, Italian food for lunch, japanese food for dinner with chips before sleep and been addicted to Coke for ages. it's prove that my stomach is purely Malaysian. cannot take anything that is weird which is not-mom-home's cooking. sleep time? any time that i'm at home which is not much especially when euro 04' is lurking at 2 and finish by 7 a.m. being a medical student doesnt mean that u follow the health rules. and with Italy a foot away to exit door this surely gonna depressed my immune system more than ever. What a week!!!!

the Italian played one of the beautiful game ever in the first half. what difference 4 days make. and what a differenc having Gattuso , pirlo and cassano in the line-up. and what a difference it make without Totti in the team. it shows what the italian capable of despite their strangth in the back-four.

Trap again shows that he still not in the same boat with the players and tifosi. in Cassano, Trapattoni took off one of his best players. Gattuso too. The Milan midfielder hassled and harried. Oh how he should have been in the starting line-up against Denmark and how the Italians gonna miss him for next game. was a menace in midfield and won several balls for Italy. Andrea Pirlo was not quite such a success story -well, in the second-half at least- but is deserving of another chance against Bulgaria. being a Milanista, i'm quite surprised by Trap decision to put Pirlo in defensive role. Pirlo certainly not a defensive midfileder, Ancellotti try to play down this idea, but, it shows that is gonna be disaster. thanks god, they still got the back four and other midfileder to cover up the lacks of pirlo's skills in defensive role. and Perotta? cameronesi? fiore? hmm.... thank god it's bulgaria next. if not, the midfield gonna look lost again.

Panucci looks like a different player from the last game. Italy’s best player. He was solid in defence and great going forward. and he created the first goal. what a skills!

Cannavaro look a little but shaky though still strong to keep the Swede's out of goal for most of the game. Nesta? the best centre-back in the world kept Larsson quiet and won most of the aerial battles. Zambrotta. look dangerous made a couple of jinking runs down the flank that led to scoring chances.

Del Piero. shows what he capable of but it's not quite there yet. Vieri is a little bit dissapointment. seems cannot head the ball towards the goal and miss the opportunity to knock-out the Swede's goal.

Cassano. when his not on his temper, he's the best forward around. Remember how Roma got the second-spot in serie A. oh Trap, why do you take out one of your best player? it seems wrong and it prove to be wrong. By this time Cassanoi taken out and the tide took a dramatic turn. the Azzurri went back into their old shell. It wasn’t quite catenaccio, but it was clear Italy were content with what they had. And this cost them. Sweden grew in confidence, and although Gigi Buffon was not called upon to make any stunning saves, his penalty area was under constant bombardment from high Swede balls.

not good Trap! maybe i should get used to this dissapoint feeling coz it's still not cured after euro 00'. but, no matter what, Azzuri still in the heart.
