it's official : Owen is the Real deal for the 'galacticos'

the boy who scored the second best World Cup goal ever next to Maradona has gone to Real Madrid.. i always thought that Owen is gonna be like my Paolo Maldini, 'a star and a true one club player' after David Beckham shattered the heart of MU fans by flying of to SPain to join the Galacticos..

but, what's really on his mind to take that offer.. it just $12 million euros.. it's nothing compared to what Real paid for other Galactico..even Patrick vieira will get less than Becks, Ronaldo, Zidane and Figo if he accept the offer.. ().. Real already got 3 on-form striker

Ronaldo : the second top-scorer in La Liga last season.. he could get the golden boot if he hadnt got injured in the middle of the season that started the Real slump..

Morientes : the top scorer of CL, on loan to Monaco last season and showed to the Galacticos why he shouldnt be left out on the bench again when scored the important away goal to kick Real out of CL..

Raul : his form has been a disapointment for Real.. the Golden boy of Spain has lost his shine.. perhaps with Morientes back in the squad, they could form the deadly leathal partnership that once bring Real to glory before Ronaldo came and keep morientes in the bench..

surely, what's on Owen mind? this move would have actually made a lot of sense for the scheme of Real’s squad. They are short on attacking options, with only three strikers on their books: Raul Gonzalez, Fernando Morientes, and Ronaldo. Should one of the trio pick up an injury, that means playing a full ninety every time out for the remaining pair. In Micheal Owen's context, are he sure that he's gonna be on the first-choice team, or just a back-up striker?


Real Madrid has been known for their tactics by showing off their silverware and financial clout, using the media to let the player known their intention.. it dont worked out it Thiery Henry, Arsene Wenger.. nearly worked with Vieira.. and it surely worked for Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, Beckham and now Owen..

but, Real could offer one thing that a Liverpool player this generation can only dream of.. Champions League throphy.. Real always in contention for the most prized throphy in europe football while liverpool even struglle to get a spot to qualify.. Owen once said that he need a platform to show to the football world what really he can do and World Cup 98' is not just one-wonder thing.. and a move to Real is the answer to his quest..

just one question: is it worth it?
