Au Revoir
Monday, May 08, 2006

i wish i was there.. either at North Bank end or Top Clock end or West Stand oe East Stand .. chanting for the full 90 minutes.. i wish i was there once in the past 93 years...

it was a beautiful ground.. Highbury may not match the scale of Old Trafford or the charged atmosphere of Anfield, but it is unique.. but it is where some of the beautiful football was played on those narrow-pitch for the past decade if not century.

what a way to say good bye..

it's a script well-written, perfectly excuted by The Gunners and their arch-rival Spurs..king-henry majestically produced all-around hatrick-performance.. while Spurs left feeling sick at Upton Park..

it was a sad goodbye not only to the ground.. but, also to one of the most-loved man in the new premiership era, the ice-cool dutch master, the non-flying dutchman..

Dennis Bergkamp.. i wish there to join the huge roar from the fan when he came in from the bench for the last time for the club that he was dearly-loved in thepast 10 years.. i'm so in love with this guy

And what an asset he's been to Arsenal! One runs out of superlatives in describing him as a player: he has great vision, awareness, touch, finish, not to mention selflessness, which for a striker almost sounds like a contradiction in terms. But there has always been so much more to Bergkamp than just goalscoring ability and he has plenty of that as his ratio of one goal in less than two and a half games testifies.

he might not scores as many goals as henry [121 to 186], because scoring goals just wasn't the be all and end all for him. he got his fair share every season, and if he didn't score 25 a season he certainly made 25. And if there ever was anything lacking in his goals in terms of quantity, there certainly wasn't in quality.

Many of them are among the most memorable scored in English football, like that unforgettable hat-trick against Leicester in 1997. And who could ever forget his sensational late winner against Argentina in the quarter-finals of France 98.

football at Arsenal would never be the same without Dennis Bergkamp.. Dennis surely be gone... but, the question that remains,

will Henry, Pires and Cole grace the ground of Ashburton Grove next season or will it be Nou Camp or El Madrigal or even Stamford Bridge?

deep in my heart i wish that Pires won't go.. coz he is favourite arsenal player.. i'm so used to seen him flying past the left/right flank; linking with Henry like there is some kind of telepathy between them.. and the fact is still said "Good morning, honey" everytime i open my back door.. it wouldn't be the same if you move to Villareal.. dont made the same mistake as Overmars or Petit.. please stay!!

and henry; nuff said about the importance of having king-Henry in Arsenal

until then.. they all got another chance of waering that famous maroon/red/white jersey in Paris; 17th May.. it will be a sad day if those two players choose to leave ARsenal and i will cheerish every moment Pires on the pitch..

and au revoir to the French Maestro, Zizou.. yesterday at El Bernabeau a curtains has been pull down on his illustrious career.. he already won all the trophy any players could ever won.. apart from that he won the hearts of the football lovers with his skills.. that superb match-winning volley against Bayer Leverkusen

For a player as accomplished, his humility, and attitude off the field come as another surprise, and he will truly be remembered as one of the gentlemen the game has produced
